Tenon CuttersThe Standard Lowe's Tenon Cutter is a great old standby. The was the first Tenon Cutter developed for the pipe repairman and the pipe maker by Howard Lowenstein for the J. H. Lowe Co. more than 40 years ago. It can be designed to fit on a work arbor from the shaft of a motor, a drill press, or a lathe head for stem cutting. The Standard Lowe's Tenon Cutter uses an adjusting ring for the cutting arm movement. No more fussing with an Allen wrench to move the cutting arm. Spinning the ring will simply move the arm in or out. It will face off at a zero cut or move to over a 5/8" cut for the biggest tenon cut. A guide pin is used in the stem to support it while the tenon is being cut. NEW DESIGN - NOW AVAILABLE - limited supply! We developed a special micro adjusting ring for the Micro-Adjustable Lowe's Tenon Cutter to move the cutting arm by a fraction of the movement of the past Tenon Cutters. The adjusting ring will rotate 1-1/3 turns for the cutting arm to move 5/8". No more fussing with an Allen wrench to move the cutting arm. Now you just spin an adjusting ring and the arm moves in or out from a zero cut for facing, to the biggest tenon cut you'll ever need to cut. A guide pin is used to support the tenon while cutting. NEW FEATURE - An optional Extra Long Cutting Arm (1-1/4" cut) can be made to interchange in the Lowe's Tenon Cutter of your choice with the standard short Cutting Arm (1/2" cut). This is a great feature for cutting extra long tenons for layering decorative rings on the stem for pipe making or the same to refit rings from the original broken bits to the new replacement bit.

Shank-Mortise Drill and Facing ToolThe Shank-Mortise Drill and Facing Tool is used by Pipe Makers to drill and countersink the shank end and square off the end of a shank for a prefect flush fit for your English style stem fitting. The Pipe Repairman will use it to re-drill a broken shank that needs to be re-drilled and re-faced again after shortening it to fix a cracked or badly chipped out shank. The tool can be designed to work with a drill press or lathe type machine. It comes with a standard 3/8" size drill and 2 cutting blades for facing and countersinking the mortised edge. An Optional 2 Extra Drills are for the Pipe Maker or Pipe Repairman to cut a mortise hole in a small diameter shank for a delicate pipe or in an extra large diameter shank for a tenon big enough to hold the largest pipe you can make or repair. You can determine the drill sizes for these, I would suggest 1/4" and 9/16".
ArborsThe All-Purpose Arbor screws onto the motor Work Arbor to accept interchangeable buffs, wheels, sanding discs, grind stones and any other wheel that can be mounted on a 3/8"-16 machine screw. The Double Arbor is similar to the All-Purpose Arbor except it allows a buff to be permanently mounted on the work arbor before installing the Double Arbor, this allows for two buffs on the right side of the motor. Work Arbors are used to convert the motor shaft into a threaded shaft (1/2"-20 thread) to accept the Tenon Cutter, the All-Purpose and Double Arbors. They are available to fit a 1/2" or 5/8" motor shaft. (Please specify your motor shaft diameter when ordering.) Drill Chuck Arbors are used for attaching an All Purpose Arbor, Tenon Turner or Mortise Facing tool to a drill chuck mounted on a drill press, lathe or motor shaft work arbor. Pricing
Aluminum Sanding DiscsThe Aluminum Sand Disc is a 5-1/2" diameter rubber padded disc used to sand off the seams of replacement pipe bits for pipe repairing. It's also is a great tool for pipe makers to shape pipes and finish sanding shanks and briar bowls with 180 to 600 grit paper. It comes complete with sandpaper folded to the disc and includes a back plate. The Sanding Disc screws into a required All-Purpose Arbor that then holds the back plate against the sand paper folds. The arbor is designed to screw onto one of our work arbors that can be mounted on a shaft of a motor. We also make a drill chuck arbor that will allow the tool to be mounted into a drill chuck for many other sanding positions.
